Dr. Amir Farid Isahak’s article Charging The Seven Chakras is a featured health story at Malaysian Star online magazine. The exercise is performed while sitting comfortably in a half-lotus yoga sitting position. Concentrate, visualize, and relax your breathing as you imagine energies flooding into each of the seven major chakras — spinning (spiraling) faster and faster. You begin with the root chakra and move upwards to the crown chakra as each chakra becomes energized. I’ve done similar chakra meditations like this…. give it a try! Good information about the chakras too!
Dr. Isahak says:
Today I will take you through the “Charging The 7 Chakras Exercise”, to help you increase your qi, develop your chakras, and if you practise enough (preferably with meditation, and best if guided by a teacher or guru), you may even improve your character to become more balanced, calm, patient, positive, intuitive, altruistic and wise.

What is mentioned here is a very dangerous practice. One should never focus on the chakra centers specifically to solve issues related to energy or character building. In fact, the best way to improve the energy of the body is to purify one’s thoughts and emotions using the tools, will and love. In this way you purify your entire aura and all energy centers at once.

Hi, My name is Brandy. I went to an herbalist the other day and she opened my chakras. I wanted to ask, what do I do now that my chakras are open and how can I utilize them.

Brandy,
Chakras are constantly in flux, they open and close naturally. The harm is when a chakra is shut down for a long period of time or when a chakra is blown open too much. Once your chakras have been manipulated open by the help of an energy medicine practitioner (or in your case, an herbalist) it is best to discuss with that healer which of your chakras were specifically problematic. You can then focus on working on the issues that are governed by those chakras to maintain balance.
